From pairing up strangers to master messy science experiments to transforming galleries into buzzing arcades, play offers visitors meaningful engagement with your institution. Play pops us out of our normal behavior patterns, allowing us to take part in authoring our own experience thus heightening our sense of engagement with both the subject matter and the institution. In this session we talk with the creators behind three different playful experiences about how we can use the mechanics of games and play to draw in and deeply engage new audiences.
