How can we empower our audiences to take ownership of the learning opportunities available at museums? Through exploring El Museo del Barrio’s Family Learning Program, a collaboration between the District 4 School Board, parents themselves, and El Museo, this session will ignite discussion about visitor empowerment and engaging families to share their expertise in the development of educational resources. In hearing the perspectives and outcomes of each major player, participants will begin to find instances of democratic thinking and learning among intersecting audiences in their own institutions.
